An Open Enrollment option is available for students undecided about their major.

Minors or concentrations are available in geography, Latin American Studies, Women's Studies and most fields which offer majors.

Elementary teaching endorsements: art, early childhood education, English/language arts, health, history, mathematics, reading, theatre/rhetoric, science, social studies, unified early childhood (early childhood with special education emphasis), special education (ISI) and ESL/ELL..

Secondary teaching endorsements: American history, American history/government, all social studies, art, biology, chemistry, earth science, economics, English/language arts, general business, general science, all science 5-8, all science 7-12, journalism, mathematics, physical science, physics, reading, sociology, theatre/rhetoric/English - theatre or English emphasis, world history, and world languages—Spanish, French, German, special education (ISI) and ESL/ELL.

Elementary and secondary education majors also may add middle school or coaching endorsements to their teaching credentials. While only one teaching endorsement is required, two or more endorsements are recommended for maximizing students' flexibility and variety in their professional careers.

Students may combine education credentials and the BSE degree with other majors, minors and concentrations.
