Financial Aid

Types of Assistance

The staff in Drake's Office of Student Financial Planning is available to assist students and their families in making decisions regarding how to finance their investment in a Drake degree. The financial aid offered by Drake University is designed to help each family meet Drake's cost of attendance according to their particular eligibility for financial aid programs. This means Drake makes every effort to provide the most complete financial aid package in the first award notice.

In fall 2007, approximately 98% of first-year students recevied a scholarship or grant from Drake University. The average financial aid package including grants, scholarships, need-based loans, and need-based work study was $18,860.

Our financial aid counselors are experts at explaining your financing options and helping you and your family budget resources. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Student Financial Planning toll-free, 1-800-44-DRAKE, x2905. If calling from outside the United States, dial 1-515-271-2905.
