Academic Support

Drake University strives to empower students to take responsibility for their own academic success. You'll have plenty of resources for doing that, too. Drake's faculty are highly accessible and make student success their top priority. You can participate in supplemental instruction programs in many academic areas. And if you want to talk with others about setting and reaching goals, choosing classes, improving your study habits or other related topics, you can turn to your adviser, your professors, Drake's assistant to the provost for academic enhancement, and Career Center staff.

Your intellectual and personal development at Drake will depend on how involved and committed you are inside and outside the classroom. Your hard work will reap great rewards! To maximize your academic journey, you should plan to attend every class prepared; initiate and maintain contact with your professors (they'll welcome your interest and your questions!); take advantage of the academic resources offered by the faculty, academic departments, Cowles Library and other information sources; and get involved on campus.

Whether you want to improve your skills in studying or time management, explore a variety of academic disciplines, join campus organizations or learn about your career options, Drake has the resources to help you do so.
