About the Drake University Events Calendar
Purpose
The purpose of the Drake University Events Calendar is to increase attendance to university events, including admission, list student and alumni activities, lectures and other more diversified events, while decreasing public relations work load and increase the accuracy of event information, providing a better service to attendees.
Organization
The calendar is grouped into seven categories. Each category is fed by one or more sources. The main source for content is the University's Zimbra Calendar System. Each source independently manages their calendar, but collectively work together under the guidance of the Office of Marketing & Communication. Refer to the table below for the organizational chart of the University Calendar.
Getting Your Event in Calendar
Please refer to the organizational chart below to see with which section your event most closely is connected and contact that main office directly. Each college and school's main office has an event administrator; that person is responsible for determining if an event is relevant and appropriate for the public calendar.
Canceling or Removing an Event
Please refer to the organizational chart below to see in which section the event was likely posted. If that cannot be determined, please contact the Office of Marketing & Communications. In most instances, the event will not be removed, rather the text "CANCELED:" will be added to the title with more details added to the description field if needed or with rescheduling information.
