Summer Financial Aid

Important things to remember:

  1. Your award notice and loan materials are mailed to your active mailing address in MyDUSIS. It is your responsibility to keep this address current.

  2. Emails are sent to your Drake email address.

  3. Your federal loan(s) must be certified prior to the last day of your summer classes. This is a federal requirement for which there are no exceptions. If you are near the end of your enrollment and have not received your summer financial aid award notice, it is your responsibility to contact the financial aid office.

  4. In almost all cases, receiving a Federal Stafford Loan in the summer will reduce your Federal Stafford Loan eligibility for fall and spring.

How to apply for Summer Aid at Drake:

  1. Complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

  2. Register at least half-time for Summer.

  3. Complete the 2009-2010 Drake University SUMMER Financial Aid Application.
