A total of 50 security phones that connect directly to Campus Security are located inside buildings and in heavily traveled outdoor locations across campus. You also are encouraged to call Campus Security from the residence halls and campus offices whenever you observe something that concerns you.
Keeping your campus home safe
Front desk receptionists are on duty in every Drake residence hall 24 hours a day. All hall doors are locked at night and the main doors are locked at 11 p.m. If you or a guest enters any residence hall — even your own — after 11 p.m., you must present identification.
Any guest must be accompanied at all times by a hall resident. You must leave your Drake ID card or driver’s license with the receptionist when visiting a residence hall other than your own. To be admitted to other campus buildings after business hours, you may also be required to show your ID to a monitor — not to hassle you, but to protect your safety.
