Master of Science in Special EducationGraduate Studies in Special Education Drake offers two areas of study in special education at the graduate level: a master's degree and an endorsement-only track. The programs' coursework prepare educators to teach in a challenging but rewarding field. Special education teachers work individually with students with disabilities to help them grow personally and academically. Master of Science in Special Education Program candidates are given several professional development opportunities. Spring 2012 students will participate as presenters and attendees of the Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavioral Disorders Conference. The artwork featured on this page includes multimedia works and photographs produced in the therapeutic art programs at the Iowa Juvenile Home. The series, titled Trauma, Trials, and Triumph, is on permanent display at the Drake University School of Education. The exhibit is intended to showcase the students' artistic talents, demonstrate the effectiveness of art therapy as a rehabilitative intervention, and educate the pubic about the Iowa Juvenile Home.
